How do people wear a diaper?
Putting a diaper on someone else can be a little tricky, especially if it's the first time you do this. Depending on the mobility of the wearer, the diapers can be changed while the person is standing, sitting or lying down. For beginners, we recommend starting with the person lying down.
Follow these steps to avoid mistakes:
Step 1: Remove and fold the diaper
After washing your hands, fold the diaper over itself. Do not touch the inside of the diaper to avoid contamination. This is especially important if the wearer has a rash, open bedsores or damaged skin. We recommend you to wear gloves during this process.
Step 2: move the wearer to a lateral position
Gently place the diaper between the person's legs, with the larger part of the diaper facing the glutes.
Step 3: now the wearer should be facing the wall
Make the user turn with a gentle movement and adjust the diaper also in the front. Make sure the diaper isn't twisted between the legs.
Step 4: Secure the tabs on the diaper
Once the diaper has been placed, the adhesive tabs must be attached. Make sure the fit is snug.
Step 5: Adjust the edges for maximum comfort and to avoid urine leakage
Run your finger around the elastic area of the groin and legs, making sure that all the ripples are facing out and that the hold is secure. This will help prevent urine leakage. Ask the wearer if she or he is comfortable and make the necessary changes.
4 key points to remember:
- Make sure you choose the correct diaper size.
- Make sure that all the ruffles and elastic bands are facing out.
- Secure both upper and lower tabs securely.
- If both tabs overlap the stomach area, consider buying a smaller size.
